DT leave Huangdao Without Silverware
(Saturday August, 20 2011) On a mild weather mixed with frustration and terrible luck, The DTs headed once again to Huangdao in order to play their quarterfinal match and see their way at least to the finals. However, some players not showing up and injury prevented this from happening. The players representing the Tigers enjoyed this experience although the knockout was inevitable. The DTs clashed with the Haidui and were the firsts to score earlier in the 2nd minute when Patrice’s shot was too powerful for the goalkeeper to reflect. Right before the halftime the DTs conceded an unnecessary goal that took their morale down and caused the loss of focus and determination. In the second halftime, the DTs’ tries to score at least one goal were not up to standard and ended up on conceding two more goals. The match ended 1-3 for the opponent who made it through to the semi-finals leaving the Tigers with nothing but keeping their heads up and learn from their mistakes.
The Drunken Tigers were: Hovig (GK), Yusuf, Liu Han, Harout, Malake, Vadim, and Patrice.
Top of the match: Patrice
Flop of the match: Hovig
Currently the Tigers are getting ready for another major event in Qingdao the 2011 5-aside football tournament.
The DT thank the sponsors for the support they gave for football and making it possible for the team to attend tournaments and enjoy practicing their hobbies away from their home countries.
Not to forget Alan and co. for the effort and determination in making this event (third year) an exceptional one and lift Qingdao’s cultural spirit to a whole new level. The Drunken Tigers family hopes and wishes you all the best and expect continuity in such remarkable dedication and success in organizing tournaments.
